HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

Happy New Year
Let us all gather round and cheer,With a drink of wine or an ice cold beer Perhaps you're like me and don't drink the swill,Or your like my grandparents who live on pills. Maybe this world seems harsh at times,Or its just that most of us just like to whine. I'd say that this is a great place to be,It all depends on how we can see. True we've had bad things in the past,But we know in our hearts that these will not last. If we try our best to be simple and pure,There's nothing our hopes and dreams cannot cure. So, I don't know the value this is worth,But lets all try to be happy and heal Mother Earth! Happy New Year!

My 2009 New Years Resolutions

  1. Start buying lottery tickets at a luckier store.
  2. Remember to brush teeth with bristly end of toothbrush.
  3. Don't eat medicine just because it looks like candy.
  4. Learn what "resolution" really means.
  5. Always replace the gas nozzle before driving away from the pump.
  6. I will always "check for paper" when leaving the restroom.
  7. I will try to drive closer to the speed limit.
  8. I will not bore my boss by with the same excuse for taking leaves. I will think of some more excuses.
  9. I will do less laundry and use more deodorant.
  10. I will try at least 10 new exercises this year.

Christmas!!!

This year for Christmas we started at my Dads house (Grandpa Mels & Grandma Jeans) early Christmas Eve. Jay got a big Aircraft carrier, a Airforce jacket, football, old school Chicago Bears helmet. Jason got a Chicago Bears Walter Payton #34 Jersey, and a old school Chicago Bears helmet too just a different color then Jays. I got a big flat grill, a christmas plate, and a christmas elf that sat on a chair on top of a turtle. We then stopped by my sister Kims house to say "hi", give them there picture frame we made for them, show them the new puppy and pick up a portable DVD player for the road the next day. We visited with them for a little bit and let the kids play with the new puppy. Then later Christmas Eve night we went home and had a very yummy ham dinner with my mom (Grandma Judy). We each opened up one gift which is the same thing every year Pajamas...its been my family tradition sense I was a kid to get pajamas on christmas eve... got to love the traditions! My mom spent the night so she could spend Christmas morning with us. Christmas morning I was the first one up (go figure)! I got to shower and everything before anyone else woke up. Finally around 8am we started our christmas morning. Jay was really excited to see that santa had came and left him presents. After we had opened all the presents we had christmas breakfast with my mom. Then it was all a rush after that... trying to get cleaned up from breakfast, make lunches for the road, pack all our clothes, and presents. We drove to Moab in a total blizzard on Christmas to go surprise Jason's mom and grandma for there Christmas gift. We got there later that evening and both Bonnie and GG were totally surprised to see us there. We stayed with Jasons cousin Kelly and her husband Collin. The next day we had a really good Prime Rib dinner that Bonnie and Ron (Jasons step dad) cooked for us. Saturday evening we got home to find 2 feet of snow in our driveway. We couldn't even pull our truck into the driveway before shoveling. Overall I think we had a good Christmas... Thank you everyone for the very nice gifts!

New Puppy!

Well I never thought I would break down and give into another dog... or at least not for a while! Last night we went and picked up our new family member. She is a 7 week old Redheeler mix...the runt on the bunch. We haven't named her yet, so if anyone has any good suggestions let us know! Right now we just call her Puppy!

Santa Claus

Yesterday we went to the mall to go and see Santa Claus. Jay has been talking about going to see Santa for a couple of weeks now. When we got there Jay couldn't wait to see Santa... so we went straight over to the line to see him. We were very lucky that the line wasn't very long. Then it was our turn to see Santa Claus... well as most kids are at this age... Jay didn't want to sit on Santa's lap. Instead I got to sit next to Santa with Jay on my lap.

Fun in the Snow!!!

This weekend we had our first really good snow fall for the year. We all decided to get bundled up and go play in the snow. We shoveled the driveway or at least I shoveled as Jay put more snow back where I had already shoveled. He thought he was doing a really good job helping out. Then we went sledding on the side of our house. We have a small slope on the side of our house that makes for good sledding. Jason and I each took turns taking Jay down the hill on the sled. Then Jay decided it was time for him to go by himself. Jay had a blast...he even wanted to carry the sled up the hill.

Peanut butter sandwich

Today Jay wanted to make his own peanut butter sandwich. He did really good at getting the peanut butter out of the jar spreading it onto his bread...then he would lick the peanut butter off of the plastic knife then stick it back into the peanut butter jar and so forth. So next time you want a peanut butter sandwich at my house you just might wanna think twice about the peanut butter... LOL!

Hanging around the house sunday afternoon

Sunday afternoon while the men were watching football the boys were just hanging out in the living room. Jay & Payton were pretending like they were playing the gameboy. They both looked like they were really getting into it.

Cruising the streets

Sunday was a really nice day to go out cruise with the kids in there little motorized vehicles. They all were really good at taking turns driving around.

Lighting up the tree christmas kids party for Zions Bank

Last week we had a party for the kids that decorated my work christmas tree at Zions Bank. The kids got to decorate christmas cookies and eat them with milk. Also all the kids got to watch the movie Polar Express. It was a really fun night.

Just Jeeping!

This weekend we went over to my sisters house and Jay found something he just had to play in(the pictures say it all) and yes he is too big for it now, but he made it work! He was going around the house just like the flinstones... it was too funny!

BIG BOY BED!!!

Jay got a big boy bed this weekend... he was so excited! My sister Kim gave this bed to us for Jay to use. I layed Jay down for a nap sunday and he woke up and had a new bed. All he wanted to do is lay in his big boy bed. Now lets see if we can get him to sleep in it at night. We just need to get some bed side rails for it first then he can sleep in it by himself. That will be another exciting adventure for mom and dad...
